Never before has there been such a compelling case for impeachment and removal from office of the president and vice-president of the United States. Bush and Cheney have committed the most serious crimes known to law and history.

If they are allowed to leave office without ever having been held accountable for their crimes then their actions will have been validated and sanctioned by the American people. Is this a precedent that we really want to set?

Many will say that it cannot be done. However, if more citizens were aware and outraged enough at this lack of respect for our democracy, the consitution and humanity then we truly could enact a change.

• We sat and watched as a presidential election was clearly stolen. We the people did nothing.

• We sat and watched as Bush and Cheney passed the war in Afghanistan off to warlords and
   allowed Osama bin Laden to escape. We the people did nothing.

• We sat and watched as the Bush/Cheney administration repeatedly lied about a connection
   between Iraq and Al-Qaeda, weapons of mass destruction [WMDs], and the eminent threat
   to the United States. We the people did nothing.

• We have continued to sit by and allow the Bush/Cheney administration to persist in furthur
   lies, the sanctioning torture, the removal of rights gauranteed to us by the Constitution and
   our Bill of Rights, in stealing a second election, in destroying our nation's reputation as a
   world leader, in endorsing the deaths of over 3500 U.S. soldiers and over 70,000 innocent
   Iraqis [based on lies], and the continual abuse of powers of the executive branch of our
   government [that which is meant to represent we the people].

Numerous Americans have been fighting for truth, peace and justice. But not enough. Ultimately we have only ourselves to blame for the state of the world, our environment and the long reaching effects of this current kakistocracy.
